pre-は、大阪を拠点とする衣服のプロジェクトです。
パターンメイキング、縫製、お直し、そして日々の実験を通して衣服を制作しています。服づくり、お直し、衣装制作、一点物の制作を行き来し、それぞれの経験が次の仕事につながっています。
日々のお直しの仕事では、衣服がどのように使われ、傷み、直され、着る人になじんでいくのかを観察しています。その経験は、新しい服づくりの出発点にもなっています。
私たちは衣服を、着用や修理、改変によって変化し続けるプロセスとして捉えています。pre-という名前には、固定されず、開かれた状態であり続けるという意味を込めています。

固定された意味や用途、結論に留まらず、物事を動かし続ける。この言葉は、私たちのものづくりの姿勢を表しています。
pre- is a clothing project based in Osaka, Japan.
We develop garments through pattern making, sewing, repair work, and ongoing experimentation. Our practice moves between clothing production, alteration, costume design, and one-of-a-kind pieces, with each project informing the next.
Through our daily repair work, we observe how garments are worn, damaged, repaired, and adapted to the people who wear them. These observations often become the starting point for new designs.
We see clothing as an ongoing process, continually shaped by use, repair, and alteration. The name pre- expresses a condition that remains open to change.
